Spanning approximately 85 square kilometers, this tropical montane forest serves as a vital ecological corridor linking the Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary with the Okwangwo Division of Cross River National Park. Uniquely, the forest is traditionally owned and managed by nine surrounding communities—organized as the Conservation Association of the Mbe Mountains (CAMM)—in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
